Keep Short-Term Lets Closed After July 15th

We are concerned that the provisional date of the 15th July for reopening short term holiday lets in residential shared buildings is fast approaching, and we feel that it is too soon. Public health must be protected above all other concerns, particularly for our most at risk residents. We feel that the hard work already done by the Scottish Government and the people of Scotland to suppress and break the chains of transmission for Covid19 could be undone by allowing a steady stream of travellers in groups in to residential flats where residents share the hallways, stairs, lifts and gardens/courtyards.

The Scottish Government has to decide by the 9th July whether the 15th of July is the date to allow short term holiday lets in communal buildings. Therefore, we are asking Community Councils, Residents’ Associations, residents, and other relevant community focused groups/organisations to back our call to keep these businesses closed for now.
